Who we are
BuildScout is operated by HEISSERS LIMITED (CRO 762336), Ireland, the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect from you
- When you request a sample or reserve a subscription: your email, business name, county, job type and preferred billing period.
- When you subscribe: billing details, which our payment provider (Stripe) processes. We never see your full card number.
- Page views: we count visits per page (and the campaign link you came from) without cookies or personal data. No IP address or device details are stored.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To send the sample and the weekly list you asked for (contract or steps before a contract).
- To send occasional product updates, with your consent, which you can withdraw anytime.
- To keep records for accounting and tax (legal obligation).
The planning data in our lists
Our lists come from public planning records. We include the site address, a description of the work, the council reference and a link to the council file. We don't include applicant names. If you'd like a site you own left out of our lists, email us and we'll remove it.
Website analytics (no cookies)
We measure how the site is used without cookies or any other storage on your device. We count page views, the country you visit from, the type of device, which sections you view and what you click, and the campaign link you arrived from (for example a link in one of our emails). We use Vercel Web Analytics plus our own event log for this. We never store your IP address, and we can't identify you from this data unless you send us your email through a form.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that run the service: hosting (Vercel), email delivery and payments (Stripe). We don't sell or rent your data.
How long we keep it
Sample requests: up to 12 months. Subscriber records: while you subscribe, then as long as Irish tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to processing, by replying to any email from us. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
